Roberta Mitchell Cameron, AICP

Roberta Cameron has assisted in the preparation of community-wide master plans, targeted planning strategies in over 35 communities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Ms. Cameron has examined complex issues facing communities in the region and innovative alternatives for achieving community goals, especially in the areas of land use, housing, economic development, and natural resources. She is skilled with quantitative and evaluative data analysis. Recent projects have included impact assessments for proposed policy changes and development proposals, in several communities, as well as drafting zoning and strategic policy recommendations.

Larry Koff & Associates, Brookline, MA, 1997-present

Senior Planner contributing to Master Plans, Community Development Plans, Housing Strategies, Downtown Revitalization, Economic Development, Fiscal Impact Analyses, and other targeted studies for numerous communities throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Coordinates fiscal impact projections, buildout estimates, and other quantitative analyses. Evaluates policy and market concerns relating to zoning, land use, housing, economic development, natural resources, and other planning issues. Provides support for tasks on various types of planning projects including background research, market analysis, development of surveys and educational materials, website management, and preparation of presentations, reports, and other deliverables.

City of Hyannis, Barnstable MA 2005

Prepared detailed, parcel-based buildout analysis to project the potential impacts from a proposed mixed use zoning change in downtown Hyannis.

Taintor Associates, Ashland, MA, 2001-2004

Reviewed Comprehensive Plans, Zoning, and other planning documents to develop sustainable local/regional economic development strategy for South County, Rhode Island. Also prepared economic development and housing inventory and needs analyses for an EO418 plan in the City of Chelsea.

Todreas Hanley, Cambridge, MA, 1998-present

Assisted with retail market analysis for downtown revitalization in Medford Square and in Manchester, NH. Other projects included market analyses for the Stata Center at MIT, Thornes Market in Northampton, Union Square Somerville, and downtown Lowell.

Contributed to master plans and strategic plans for Millbury, Canton, Lynnfield, Marblehead, and Wareham.

Contributed to master plans, economic development studies and land use and buildout analyses for the towns of Randolph, Hingham, Norton, Duxbury, Holliston, Dracut, Dunstable, Taunton, and Winchester.

As a volunteer, Ms. Cameron has recently explored the issues of urban forestry, developing a vision and strategy to improve the planting and care of street trees in her own community of Medford. Past volunteer and independent consulting efforts involved needs assessments which led to successful grant applications for housing and economic development funding for the communities of Wareham and Allston/Brighton.
